The Chaldean Education and Career Center (CECC) of Michigan is a group of community educators who have organized to help communicate, encourage, and guide academic and career achievement.  Membership is open to anyone who believes in assisting the community in matters relating to education or career placement.  CECC members include school administrators, teachers & college professors, counselors, social workers, career coaches, career placement professionals, college students, along with others who passionately believe in helping the community through education and employment related matter. Some of the CECC community projects and services are listed on the right.

Chaldean College Bound Student Application Assistance

Michigan, USA - Chaldeans who are looking for the inside advantage on their college applications should look no further.  The Chaldean Education and Career Services and the Chaldean American Student Association (CASA) of Michigan shares the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan public library special admission preparation sessions for college bound students called "Apps of Steel".  Afterward, a Chaldean application workshop will be held specifically for U of M, WSU, U of D Mercy, Michigan State, and Oakland University. 

The "Apps of Steel" event is a special seminar held by the Bloomfield Township Public Library.  The event will help Chaldean college bound students gain the upper hand when submitting college admissions.  The wokhop afterward hosted by the Chaldean Educaiton and Career Center and Chaldean American Students Assocation will cover admission requirements for Michigan universities. 

The "Apps of Steel" college application seminar will be held Friday, December 28, at 10 a.m., and a second identical session, at 11 a.m. at the Bloomfield Township Public Library, 1099 Lone Pine Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 

The events guest speaker will be the award-winning author and Roeper School’s Director of College Counseling, Patrick O’Connor.  The event will help students work through the last-minute of a college applications.

Those interested in the Michigan college application workshop need to register by e-mailing the Chaldean Education and Career Center.

Chaldean high school juniors and seniors will be able to get free, expert advice on completing college applications in time to meet the January 1, 2008, deadline in the Apps of Steel seminar.

“Most students save the required essays for last, so we’ll focus the first part of each one-hour seminar on the dos and don’ts of essays,” said O’Connor, who is in his 24th year as a college counselor, and a past president of the National Association for College Admission Counseling. “After that, there will also be time to review individual essays and time for lots of questions about college in general, so students and parents should be ready to ask them all.”

Free information will also be available on how to look for scholarships and financial aid, as well as how to make the most out of the last semester of senior year.

The number of attendees is limited.  Registration is required for this event and seating is offered first-come-first-serve basis.  Students are asked to call (248) 642-5800, extension 171 to register for the "Apps of Steel," seminar.
